Jacob, on the other hand, is always cautious about everything including the pool and as long as Mommy was holding him in the pool, he was a happy camper. Not so much in the baby float!
Nothing a little snack can't fix. After some pool time, we had snacks and a picnic lunch before the guys headed back to the house while the girls swam a little more.
Later that night, we went over to the Foxes for dinner and games while the kids played until they fell asleep.The next morning, we all slept in and then went to the blueberry farm with our friends Jason, Harlye and their son Cole to pick some blueberries.
Jacob enjoyed the view from the stroller (as he's still NOT walking yet!)....

We went to finding and picking lots of blueberries....
though I think Greg said that Alyssa sampled most of hers as few of them made it to the bucket!

It started getting hot so we decided to head on back home with our fruit.
We ended up with a gallon of blueberries! Both kids love blueberries so we've been picking at these all weekend!
Later that evening, we went over to the McGees as they have their annual Phi Delt Fourth of July party. It was definitely a change from last year when we had a reflux-y and kinda fussy 5 month old. This year, Jacob warmed up after a bit and played well.
The girls loved all of Meghan's toys.
And the 4-pack was back together again!
There were lots of patriotic goodies....I tried out a recipe for some red, white and blue jello pie.
Jacob figured out how to put Bugles on his fingers and thought it was hilarious. (From here on out, a lot of the pictures of Jacob are of him going "cheeeeeeeese" since that's what he does pretty much every time he sees my camera these days!)
Alyssa and Meghan enjoyed their cupcakes together.

The girls were in Meghan's room for quite a while and when they came out, each had a different costume on.
Jacob even joined in the fun! :)

The fireworks....the only picture I got of any kind of fireworks as Alyssa DID NOT like the fireworks at all so we ended up spending most of the time in the bedroom watching Tangled and missing the fireworks....
Monday morning Alyssa and I had some Mommy/Daughter time - went to the shoe store only to find that they opened at 10 (it was 9:45) so we walked over to Starbucks to split an apple fritter and sit for a bit. Then we went back to the shoe store, got some shoes and then headed home to change before we met Kristi and Olivia (and Heather and Eva) at the pool again. This time Alyssa wasn't as eager to get into the pool because she had just skinned both knees walking to the pool gate and was not happy. We toughed it out though and Alyssa ended up having so much fun, she didn't want to leave the pool when it was time to go.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at home and had a nice quiet dinner and got some cleaning done before the (short) work week starts up again. Last but not least.....I made some blueberry cobbler with some of the blueberries that we had picked from the farm to end our great long holiday weekend! Hope everyone had a great fourth of July!!!
