Yes. I am the.worst.blogger. But, then again life is busy in the Sasine household and if it’s time spent with the family or time spent blogging about it, I’d rather be making memories. :) For those who want the latest and greatest updates, facebook has the most up to date pictures, info, etc regarding what’s going on in our lives. Either that or follow me on Instagram as those are the two sites I had to check to remember what went on this year!
Ok – let’s see if I can even catch up from the year considering my last post was from Christmas! Now, it’s September! LOL.
January – I can’t even remember what happened for the new year…..but we rang in 2013!
I did run my first 8K race and placed 3rd for my age group!
February – we celebrated Jacob’s 3rd birthday party with a dinosaur/shark themed event at our house.
Tried to find some creativity for the kids’ valentines.
Greg also had a birthday this month and we went to Atlanta to celebrate May May’s LXV birthday!
March – We had a bridal shower at our house for Rebecca’s upcoming wedding.
Ran the Color Run with the girls.
And I ran my first 10K race – the St. Patty’s Day 10K in Columbia and ran it in just slightly over an hour! Not bad! Even better – beer afterwards!
We had our annual Easter fun at various Easter egg hunts.
April – We took a mini trip to Myrtle Beach to see Aunt Kiki, Ezra and Gigi. The kids had fun playing on the beach, flying kites and playing in the pool at the resort.
May – We went strawberry picking and had some water fun with friends.
Gigi also came up for Mother’s Day weekend and we went to the crawfish festival and had Mother’s Day brunch.
The kids had their annual trike-a-thon at school, raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
I went to Atlanta with Rebecca and friends to celebrate Rebecca’s bachelorette weekend.
Alyssa finished her gymnastics season and got a trophy and medal at her gymnastics “performance” – so proud!
June – Alyssa got her ears pierced…..
The reason…for a wedding……Aunt Kitty got married! Alyssa was the flower girl and I was the matron of honor as we celebrated Rebecca and Stephen’s wedding!
Alyssa also had the first of many sleepovers with her little girlfriends. Can’t believe the girls will all be 5 soon!
July – Ran the Peachtree Road Race for the first time ever and had a Fourth of July girls weekend with Rebecca in Atlanta.
I’ve also been taking the kids to Lowe’s Build & Grow this summer so we can learn and create new things.
August – We took a family vacation to see my family in California. The kids did great on the plane rides to and from LA and the car rides to and from Bakersfield. They had so much fun playing with all of their older cousins and going swimming in Grandma Kim’s pool every day. We even made it out to Chuck E Cheese for a family day out. Jacob also saw his first movie (and I missed it!) – they went and saw Despicable Me 2.
Alyssa and I also took a Mommy/Daughter trip to Charleston with Jamie and Meghan to see the Brooks family. We took the girls to go see the movie Planes and the mommies even got a night out to catch up.
Then, we also had our “first day” of school even though the kids have been going to this daycare for a while now! :) I figured I would take the picture on the first day of the county school schedule since Alyssa will be starting kindergarten next fall.
And that mostly catches us up. For now. :)
