Hello Again!

Yes, I know I've been really slow to blog lately. At first I was just trying to catch up by events but now I think I'll just start from the most recent and update past events as I can so if you want, keep checking back to see what we've been up to!

Saturday we had a playdate with the McGee Family at Saluda Shoals Park. They have a Splash Zone area that is open during the summer and we packed a picnic lunch.

We had never been to this park but the splash zone was really cool!

Alyssa was a little shy at first since we got there before the McGees.

and because it was 9:30 and the water was COLD at first.

But shortly thereafter, the McGees showed up and the weather got hot and the girls were off. (You may have noticed Alyssa is in different bottoms in the rest of the pictures....yeah, I didn't try on her bathing suit beforehand and now that she isn't wearing a swim diaper, the bottoms were slipping off her little tush. Thankfully Jamie packed an extra suit for Meghan that fit Alyssa and let her borrow it! Lesson learned!)

Soon the girls found the playground next to the splash zone and made a beeline for it!

Alyssa is very timid on slides still but give her something to climb on and she's all over it!

Then it was back to the splash zone for a little more water fun before lunch.

You may have also noticed that Jacob isn't in any of the pictures until now at the park. This little boy who loves to splash in big puddles did NOT like the sprinklers at ALL. We took him a few times and when we ran in and ran out, he thought it was funny but if you put him down, he was not a happy camper. But he was happy just chillin' on the picnic blanket and hanging out with Paul and Greg. The kids enjoyed some yummy watermelon after they played.

We even had an unexpected visitor - this little bird must get fed a lot because he got really close to us and kept swooping down to our table.

Jacob didn't even notice!

We had a nice lunch of sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, goldfish, fruit snacks, oranges and chips. The kids hung out a little more. Alyssa wanted to take pictures of me with her pretend camera.

while Jacob was just happy to have food in front of him as always.

A great playdate had by all! We really enjoyed the Splash Zone and see lots of future visits back especially with the HOT Columbia summers! Thanks McGee family for hanging out with us - we had so much fun!
